Briton, 19, mobbed in 30-man sex assault and threatened with rape during Italian trip

A British teenager has been threatened with rape after being mobbed and groped by 30 men in Italy. The victim, 19, was celebrating the New Year with two male friends from England and a group of six Belgian students met in Milan. They headed to the Piazza del Duomo for fireworks but her happy night turned into a heinous sex attack, according to reports.
She describes being “grabbed and pulled back” as she passed through a busy crowd surrounded by roughly 30 men she didn’t know. The woman told MailOnline: “They held my arms, my hands. I couldn’t defend myself” before being groped “while another tried to pull up my dress”.
She added: “I was struggling to get free, and they were enjoying my distress.”. Talking to Belgian media, she said: “I am broken-hearted to have to fight this battle at the very beginning of my adult life.”. Italian media reported at the time that the men had been identified only as being second-generation North African men.
The victim, a university student in northern England, said she wanted to tell her story to “dispel some of the disinformation being shared online and ensure [she] is heard”. But the tourist was met with “kindness” by locals who helped her group walk home after the incident.
