Brutal moment dying Ukrainian soldier praises his killer and calls out 'goodbye' to mum

The brutal reality of war has been laid bare in footage from a Ukrainian soldier's head cam showing the moment he knew he was going to die, as he admits it's over and says goodbye to his mum. The distressing clip shows a deadly knife battle between the solider fighting to defend his homeland, and a Russian man fighting for Putin as his troops invade. The pair started fighting with guns until it becomes a one on one knife fight. The Russian soldier - from the Yakutia region of Siberia - wins the bloody blade contest amid the ruins of a blitzed building.
As he lies wounded the Ukrainian pleads to let him die alone and salutes his Russian foe, saying: “I want to die myself. Thank you. You were the best fighter in the world. Goodbye, you were better.” Knowing he is close to the end of his life, the unidentified defeated fighter, losing blood, sends his last message to his mother. “That's it, mum, goodbye.”.
The sequence started with close range shooting which rapidly turned into a fierce knife fight in contrast to many scenes from a hi-tech war which has featured deadly hypersonic and precision missiles. The defending Ukrainian grabbed the barrel of the Russian's automatic rifle leading to a struggle in which the Putin fighter pulled his knife and stabbed his taller foe in the thigh.
One eyewitness said: "The Ukrainian saw that the knife handle had slipped from Tuta's palm and immediately grabbed the handle with his left hand. Snatching the knife out of Tuta's hands, he immediately struck a blow to the head. At the last moment Tuta managed to dodge the blow, causing the knife blade to slip close to his face and cut his ear lobe in half.".
