CARRIE Johnson has shared photos from her NHS hospital bed as she revealed her health battle with pneumonia and flu on Instagram. She announced that she spent a week in hospital after suffering with the winter viruses. On an Instagram caption she wrote: "It just got out and I was struggling to breathe properly.
"Hospital confirmed I had flu and pneumonia. "I was there nearly a week and I’m still not recovered. "It could take another few weeks until I feel like myself again.". The wife of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that she spent the first few days of 2025 at John Radcliffe hospital in Oxfordshire after enduring a 'nasty' chest infection for nearly 18 days.
She added: "I say it a lot but they have looked after me and my family when we’ve needed it most and I will never not be enormously grateful. "They are the absolute best of us.". Carrie extended a thank you to the hospital workers at the John Radcliffe, where she was admitted.
"When I was particularly low, one nurse even serenaded me by my bed," she shared. This comes as England's ambulance service battles with their "busiest winter ever.". Hospital staff have described the surge of patients as similar to when Covid numbers were skyrocketing, with one claiming "it feels like the pandemic.
In 2020, as Covid-19 was becoming rife, her former partner Boris Johnson was put into intensive care after his symptoms "worsened.". More to follow...
