We have already had to say goodbye to some famous faces this year - and we've only just got into 2025. Last year, we lost some of the entertainment world's biggest and most influential stars, including health guru Dr Michael Mosley, Harry Potter icon Dame Maggie Smith and rugby league legend Rob Burrow. One Direction fans also mourned the tragic death of Liam Payne and Strictly viewers were heartbroken by Robin Windsor's sudden passing.

Here, The Mirror takes a look at the celebrities we've lost so far in 2025 - from big-screen icons and memorable actors to social media sensations... Carol Acosta, a Dominican Republic-born influencer better known by her social media followers as Killadamente, died aged 27, it was confirmed on January 5. Carol had a huge 6.6. million following on Instagram and reportedly went into cardiac arrest after choking on her dinner.

Her younger sister Khatyan, also an influencer with 130,000 Instagram fans, confirmed the mum-of-two's tragic passing on social media. She said: "I love you sister and I will always love you. I give thanks to God for giving me a sister like you with your big heart. Rest in peace my sister.".

RuPaul Drag Race legend The Vivienne died aged 32, it was announced on January 5. The star, real name James Lee Williams, won the first series of the UK drag queen show in 2019 and came third in Dancing On Ice in 2023. The performer's publicist shared a statement that read: "It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved James Lee Williams - The Vivienne, has passed this weekend. James was an incredibly loved, warm-hearted and amazing person. Their family are heartbroken at the loss of their son, brother and uncle. They are so proud of the wonderful things James achieved in their life and career.".
