Champion jockey Jamie Melham breaks down in tears after emotional win: 'I know he's watching down on us' Champion jockey Jamie Melham had racegoers in tears on Saturday after winning the group 1 1400-metre Orr Stakes for her late dear friend Colin McKenna.
The horse was bred by Colin and Janice McKenna, however Colin passed away last year from cancer and was not around to witness Another Wil triumph.
Melham, formerly known as Kah, won her first group 1 race under her new name at Caulfield, partnering the Ciaron Maher-trained Another Wil to victory.
Trainer Ciaron Maher (pictured) said Colin McKenna would have been thrilled.
Melham was married to fellow jockey Ben Melham in a stunning rural ceremony two weeks ago.
