Mayhem broke out in Philadelphia on Sunday night as Eagles fans celebrating their NFC Championship win clashed with riot police after a car ploughed into a large group of people - while one supporter was stabbed outside the team's stadium. Hours after the Eagles' 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders, which sealed their place in next month's Super Bowl, celebrations on the streets of Philly quickly turned sour.
Footage emerged on social media of police pushing back against a large crowd of buoyant Eagles fans, a number of whom could be seen protesting angrily to cops before either being pushed away or arrested. One stunned supporter was heard shouting amid the madness: 'We're just celebrating a f***ing win!'.
Prior to those chaotic scenes, several people were also left injured after a car drove into a large crowd in North Philadelphia, police confirmed. According to NBC 10 Philadelphia, the driver struck a group of pedestrians on North Broad and Spring Garden streets at around 9:30pm, with multiple people taken to the hospital.
