Stuttgart have joined the race for Chelsea defender Renato Veiga. The versatile Portugal international, who can play at left-back, centre-back and as a defensive midfielder, has struggled for minutes in the Premier League following his £12million summer switch from FC Basel. He has featured just seven times in the top-flight this season, playing just 176 minutes of league action despite being a frequent starter in the UEFA Conference League. Now Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart are showing interest in a potential loan while Italian table-toppers Napoli, too, would also be keen should Chelsea make Veiga available this month.

However, at this stage, it seems unlikely Maresca will sanction his departure as Veiga could have a big part to play in Chelsea's Conference League campaign moving forward as the Blues gear up for the knockout stages and minutes will also be on offer in the FA Cup. Juventus are also thought to be monitoring the 21-year-old's situation as Thiago Motta is looking to bolster his defensive options following a difficult start to life at the helm in Turin. The Blues have high hopes for the player and still believe he has the potential to become a regular starter at Stamford Bridge in the future. Meanwhile, Chelsea are also in talks with Torino over the permanent midfielder of midfielder Cesare Casadei, who was signed from Inter Milan in a £12.6million deal in August 2022. Casadei attracted strong interest last summer but opted to remain in west London, however, he is now thought to be edging closer to the exit door as he looks to secure regular playing time. Torino's latest proposal is worth around £10m and they're also willing to negotiate a sell-on clause.
