Chelsea have returned to winning ways in the Premier League, but the injuries continue to pile up. The Blues ended a run of five matches without victory in England’s top flight as they beat Wolves 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Monday. Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Cucurella and Noni Madueke were all on the scoresheet on a night where Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall returned from injury, Cole Palmer shook off a knock to start and Trevoh Chalobah shone on his return.
However, the bad news is there are still many players in the treatment room at Cobham. So ahead of a big game away at Manchester City this weekend here’s the latest Chelsea injury news. Romeo Lavia had only recently returned from injury, so it’s another setback for the talented midfielder.
Muscle fatigue is the reason he missed the win over Wolves, with Enzo Maresca delivering an update afterwards: “The Romeo [injury] is more important than the Enzo one,” he said. “We don’t know yet how long they are going to be out. Hopefully not too long.
“It’s muscle fatigue or muscle problems. Both against Bournemouth. The Romeo one was the yellow card, if you remember, and Enzo against Bournemouth in the 92nd or 93rd minute.”. Potential return date: Unknown. Similar to Lavia, Enzo Fernandez is suffering from muscle fatigue. The good news is his problem is less important that his teammate, but it remains to be seen if he will be fit to face Man City at the weekend.
