A clean radiator not only keeps your living spaces fresh but also enhances energy efficiency. This is because dusty radiators have to work harder to heat your home, an important consideration as the colder weather approaches. Cleaning experts Purdy and Figg, known by their TikTok handle @purdyandfigg, have posted a handy tutorial video on TikTok, prompting their followers to recall when they last cleaned their radiator thoroughly. In the video, which has been viewed over 50.5k times, the cleaning guru is seen using a hairdryer to dislodge the dust from her radiator, followed by a vacuum cleaner to pick up the large clumps that had fallen onto the floor.
She then mixes a quick cleaning solution of warm water and Eco-Concentrate cleaner in a measuring jug, dips a microfibre cloth into it, and wipes it all over the exterior and top of her radiator, using the remaining water to remove any residual dust. The voiceover shared a nifty trick: "Use a microfiber cloth to clean the outside and the top. And use the remaining water to remove the excess dust.".
