If you detest the chore of scrubbing your microwave, Mrs Hinch fans have dished out their ultimate hacks for tackling those tricky spots. It seems there are numerous nooks and crannies that many of us overlook, from the ceiling to the hidden corners. No one fancies last week's spaghetti bolognese flavouring this evening’s meal prep. But fear not, those past culinary catastrophes damaging your microwave’s shine can be a thing of the past – along with any stubborn, dried remnants.

An ex-caterer claims one tip shines brightest as the 'quickest and best way' for sprucing up your appliance. So what's the secret? It's all about steaming up the place with a bowl of warm water and lemon slices, say the devotees of cleaning sensation, Mrs Hinch.

A Facebook post prompted a flurry of replies on Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips, confirming the citrusy steam clean trick is second to none. One user advised: "Try bowl of warm water with slice lemon. Put on about minute. Then wipe when finished.". Another endorsed using a bowl of water for a good "steam it off" whilst another shared: "My friend puts lemon juice in a dish.. puts in microwave.. turns on about 2 minutes.. wipes out with nice soapy water. So simple.. I was amazed!" Someone else also chimed in: "Half a lemon in a jug hot water put in the microwave for 5 minutes leave it don't open the door leave it for a few minutes and then open the door.".

One advocate of the method suggested: "Cut half a lemon into pieces pop inside a jug/bowl of water, put in microwave for about 4mins and wipe away. You may need to repeat depending on how bad it is to start," with another person responding: "This is what we did when I was in catering it was the quickest and best way.".
