Conor McGregor appeared to size up Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez during their showdown with the Utah Jazz on Monday night. The former two-division UFC champion sat courtside in Salt Lake City as the Jazz hosted Lopez and the Bucks at the Delta Center.
In the second quarter, with the Bucks leading 51-46, McGregor walked to his seat when he paused to talk to the Milwaukee bench, where Lopez was seated. The pair shook hands before engaging in a conversation when McGregor appears to ask Lopez to stand up. The 7ft1 big granted his request, sticking his chest out as they stared each other down.
After the bizarre interaction highlighted the height difference between athletes, Lopez spoke about it postgame. 'He asked me how tall I was,' said Lopez. 'I let him know. He asked me to stand up, and I did. And I knew at that point once I got up I had to size him up.'.

'You know, I had to do a little something,' he added. 'I've seen the face-offs before so I had to do my part.'. Lopez also joked about teammate Damian Lillard being his manager if a hypothetical fight between him and the Irishman were to take place. 'If something's gonna happen, maybe Dame can be my promoter, Dame can be my manager, teach me to fight 'cause I got nothing,' Lopez quipped.
