Leanne has had a rough time of it lately having been a victim of Rowan Cunliffe’s (Emrhys Cooper) cult, before finding out partner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) had started a relationship with her sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor). On Friday it’s her big day in court, as she faces the music over the events of Christmas, where she tried – and failed – to frame Nick and Toyah for fraud.
While she escapes a prison sentence and is handed a community order, the sisters’ relationship is still hugely fractured, and she remains bitter and vengeful over Toyah’s betrayal. Jane appeared on Wednesday’s edition of This Morning, and admitted ‘eternal teenager’ Leanne has reverted to her old habits of being ‘stroppy and thinking of herself’.
‘It’s quite selfish and her behaviour is like that of a teenager sometimes,’ she told hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard. ‘She’s always kind of been on her own or been abandoned, so she’s had to toughen up over the years. ‘But now she’s going back to her roots, I think that’s really fun to play. It’s the essence of who she is, and it gives us somewhere to go a bit later hopefully as well. They always revert back to how she used to be, which is great fun.’.
