Georgia May Foote has begged her followers for help after being bedridden for five days, having last eaten on Christmas Day. The 33-year-old former Coronation Street star, who played Katy Armstrong on the ITV soap, shared her symptoms and asked for any advice from fans to help her get better. She told them she'd had an upset stomach and severe cramps and on Saturday night was on the fifth day of her illness.
Georgia, who was also a runner up on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015, explained to her followers that on 29 December she tried to eat her first full meal since Christmas Day, but "belly said no". Posting from her sick bed, she wrote: "Day 5 of having a really bad stomach.
"Tried to eat my first proper meal since Xmas Day and belly said no. Anyone else got this, how do I stop it? The cramps are so painful." Georgia added: "Literally out here looking for tips now cz this is getting long.". Later on, Georgia filmed herself in a grey jumper, telling followers: "This seems to be my most-ever replied-to story. Everyone keeps talking about this flu going around, but I don't have the flu. I just don't know what this is.".
As reported by the Mirror, NHS bosses have warned of an exceptionally high norovirus rate, with the start of the 2024/2025 season seeing a 27.4 per cent increase in reports of the virus. Also known as the 'winter vomiting bug', norovirus symptoms include feeling sick (nausea), diarrhoea and being sick (vomiting).
A few hours after she'd appealed to followers, Georgia could be seen in her car showing them what she'd bought to help clear up her illness. After telling fans she'd already tried things like drinking flat coke, lying on her left and front, omeprazole, water and dioralyte, she was given other tips from followers.
