Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has reportedly agreed terms to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr, after the ex-Manchester United star urged the club to splash the cash. Duran has been subject of huge transfer speculation in January after West Ham had a £57million bid rejected for the striker but it now looks like Al-Nassr have won the race for his signature.
According to French outlet L'Equipe, Duran has already agreed personal terms with Al-Nassr and is now waiting for the club to agree a transfer fee with Villa. It's suggested Villa are ready to accept a bid around £59m from Al-Nassr for the Colombian striker, who has impressed with 12 goals from 29 appearances this term - despite being a second-choice striker being Ollie Watkins.
The 21-year-old has generated interest from a number of teams after his exciting displays from off the bench, including three in the Champions League, but Al-Nassr look to be the favourites after "pushing for several days". Should Duran link up with Al-Nassr, he would join a star-studded team that includes Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic and Aymeric Laporte.
His transfer would likely please Ronaldo, who agreed to extend his deal in the Middle East - raking in a reported £168m per year - on the condition that the club make significant investments in the team to ensure they remain competitive. Despite racking up 75 goals in 84 appearances for Al-Nassr, Ronaldo has only claimed the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023 and twice finished as runner-up domestically.
