Currys faces backlash after 'inappropriate' social media post

X users have been quick to respond to a social media from post by UK retailer Currys, with some branding it "inappropriate". The technology and electronics brand shared a viral video from US President Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony, which took place on Monday, January 20.
Former POTUS George W Bush can be seen in the clip, struggling to keep his composure. In the video he appears to be stifling some laughter, unable to keep himself from smirking. Resharing the video, Currys said: "When the price has a 69 in the number". And it has not gone down well with certain people on X, as one wrote: "Bit inappropriate!!!".
A second said: "Didn’t expect this from you Currys", with a third repeating this: "Did not expect this from Currys". A fourth said: "15 year old work experience lad running the socials?". Currys was approached for comment but had not responded by the time of publication. This Bush interaction was not the only moment of Trump's inauguration that has had people talking.
Eagle-eyed viewers noticed a seemingly bantering exchange between Bush and his presidential predecessor Barack Obama. One lip reading expert believes Obama began the conversation with: "Good to see you" before cheekily adding: "How can we stop what's happening?".
