Dancing on Ice star Chris Taylor shares fears over 'Gemma Collins moment' on live show

Love Island star Chris Taylor is preparing to dazzle fans with his skating skills on the new series of Dancing On Ice. However, he is concerned about getting injured while filming the reality show or having an embarrassing fall such as the one TOWIE star Gemma Collins had in the 2019 series. “I’m nervous about dancing with razor blades on my feet and potentially getting injured. I’ve hurt my elbows skating before and was in pain for quite a while so that scares me,” he says. “I don't want an injury to hinder my experience, I don’t want to have a Gemma Collins moment.”.
Chris, who is paired with professional ice dancer Vanessa Bauer, has previously appeared on dating shows Love Island, Love Island All Stars, Dinner Date and Celebs Go Dating but wanted to try something different for 2025. “I’ve had very little success with the dating shows I’ve been involved with recently so I just thought you know what, let's try something that is the polar opposite of dating to see if I can have some success with that,” he explains. “It appears to be more dangerous than dating but who knows, I could be good at it if I put my mind to it.”.
The reality star describes himself as “a little bit of a showman” and admits that he has more experience with roller skating than he does skating on ice. He’s hoping that he will do well, however, and that his friends and family will cheer him on.
“My mum and dad are buzzing, all my friends and family are desperate to come and watch me live. I think they’re going to be proud watching me,” he says. “My Love Island friends Kaz Kamwi, Toby Aromorlaran, Michael Griffiths, Joe Garratt, Jess and Eve Gale will all come and watch me I hope.”.
