Dancing On Ice paid tribute to former contestant The Vivienne on Sunday's launch show after their tragic death last week. The RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner, who came third when they competed on the ITV skating show in 2023, died suddenly on January 5 at the age of 32.
Presenters Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern opened Sunday's Dancing On Ice with a tribute to The Vivienne, whose real name was James Williams - but viewers were less than impressed. Speaking to the camera, Holly said: 'Before we move on, like us, many of you have been saddened by the tragedy of The Vivienne’s passing last weekend.
'Now, they were a huge part of the show, making it all the way to the final in 2023 and they’ll be very sorely missed. Our thoughts are with The Vivienne’s loved ones at this sad time. So sad.'. Viewers slammed the tribute as 'fake' and claimed the message had 'no care or feeling' as they criticised the show for not showing any of The Vivienne's dances.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, viewers wrote: 'I thought that they might of said/done a little more when it came too paying homage too The Vivienne, showing previous clips and, or a dance routine in memory of perhaps,';. 'Nah #DancingOnIce making out they were doing a tribute to The Vivienne and they say practically nothing they make more tribute that that shitty bolero what the f*** absolutely abysmal show,';.
