Darts star Mike De Decker has made his frustrated feelings known after being snubbed for the Premier League. The PDC unveiled their eight-man line-up for the 2025 edition of the tournament this week. Luke Littler secured himself a spot en route to becoming the youngest-ever world champion at just 17.

Also automatically included were fellow top four seeds Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross, while the remaining optional places were handed to Stephen Bunting, Nathan Aspinall, Chris Dobey and Gerwyn Price. Belgian thrower De Decker was a notable omission from the list given his triumph at the World Grand Prix in October. That made the 29-year-old the first player to miss out on a Premier League spot after winning a major televised on Sky Sports in the tournament's 20-year history.

De Decker today (January 7) re-posted one social media comment pointing out that fact, which called the omission “sickening”, on his Instagram story along with a rolling eyes emoji. Per the Sun, he'd also previously shared a post to his story that read: "Once I don't give af, there's literally nothing you can do about it.".

His unimpressed reaction did not come as a surprise, though there has been a pattern of major winners being overlooked for the tournament in recent years. However, he is the first to face that fate after winning one live on Sky. PDC chief executive Matt Porter explained the reasons for omitting De Decker from the line-up, stating: "Mike is an outstanding talent and is someone that undoubtedly we will see in Premier League Darts in the future.
