Dave Chisnall celebrates winning leg at World Darts Champs before realising major error

Dave Chisnall was left red-faced before his premature exit from the World Darts Championship after a glaring miscount. Chizzy became the 13th seed to be knocked out in the second round at Alexandra Palace as he suffered a 3-2 defeat to Ricky Evans. The 44-year-old lost a sudden death leg in the fifth set - but not before suffering a momentary lapse of judgement on the oche.
Chisnall thought he'd pulled the game back level and forced a tie breaker by winning the dramatic 10th leg. Requiring 131, the six-time PDC major finalist hit treble 19, treble 14 and double 16, before doing his trademark finger point to the TV cameras. However, upon approaching the board, it was made clear to him that he'd miscalculated.
Chizzy actually required a D20 instead of a D16, meaning he hadn't clinched the leg as believed. Sky Sports commentator Glen Durrant encapsulated the moment as he said: "Can we get any more drama than this? A miscount at the most important time! Chisnall doesn't know what day it is. What a match this is and it deserves to go the distance!".
Fortunately for Chisnall, Evans was unable to take out the 130 he required to win the match, allowing Chisnall back in to win the leg on double one and force a decider. Chisnall was defeated in the game-deciding sudden death leg however, with world no.45 Evans pinning D20 on his first try, ending an epic showdown and one of the games of the tournament so far.
