David Beckham discovers a Hollywood A-lister is his 'long, lost brother' in a sneak peak at Stella Artois' Super Bowl commercial. The Man Utd star, 49, launched a series of adverts last month for the beer company, which start off by his parents, played by actors, telling him he has a secret sibling. During Sunday's Super Bowl in the America, the identity of David's twin will finally be revealed as actor, Matt Damon, who has been working with Stella since 2015.
The 'David and Dave' campaign kicked off last month with a commercial showing the Inter Miami star in a pub with his pretend mum and dad. David's mum says: "We have something to tell you," before his dad adds: "You have a twin we never told you about — left him in America." David replies: "I always knew there was something missing," as his dad explains they called his brother "other David". It turns out that "other David" is none other than Hollywood star, Matt, who pops up in the new commercial, larking around with 'David 1'.
In the new ad, David is seen ringing the doorbell of his brother's swanky US home as Matt answers, confirming he is: "Beckham, Dave Beckham.". Leading him to his backyard, Matt introduces David to buffalo wings, only for the former footballer to get confused, asking: "You eat buffalo?" Despite their differences, the brothers find some common ground when Matt is tossed an American football and he kicks it, Beckham-style, out of the yard.
The commercial ends with the brothers rejoicing in their good taste in beer as David tells his brother: "There's something I have to tell you." Matt reveals: "I've been partnering with Stella Artois for a decade now and get more excited with each year,' Matt revealed. "I can't wait to keep telling the story of 'David and Dave' all year and shedding light on those moments in life worth more, where meaningful connection means more than anything. The Beckham brothers are here to stay, and Stella Artois will be there with us at every moment.".
In a post-credit clip, the brothers continue their playful banter. Questioning David's fame as a "soccer player," Matt asks Beckham if he’s "Matt Damon famous," to which David Beckham quickly retorts, perhaps he’s "Ben Affleck famous.". This weekend, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles are set to meet again in the final and biggest game of the season, a rematch of the 2023 Super Bowl where star quarterback Patrick Mahomes led his team to a 38-35 victory. Travis Kelce will also be playing and will no doubt be supported by his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who is set to send fans into a frenzy.
