David Schwimmer has revealed he once served Sir Rod Stewart his divorce papers during a summer internship as a teen, he shared on Tuesday. The Friends star, 58, worked as a server during his first year of university at 18-years-old and was given the job to hand Rod, 80, the court paperwork.
Though he didn't confirm who was divorcing the rock legend at the time, Rod and his first wife Alana divorced in 1984 - the same year David would have been 18. A Process Server is a person who delivers court papers for a living. Once they have served the divorce petition for you, they will provide you with proof of when, how and where the petition was served on the Respondent.
Recalling the awkward encounter on Stephen Colbert's The Late Show, he said: 'One summer after my freshman year in college, I was just looking for work and my mum said "You can be a process server for me".'. 'My mum was a divorce lawyer, and so I was the guy who would pop out of the bushes and serve you divorce papers.

'Once, oh man, thank goodness I’ve never run into him since, but I served Rod Stewart. I don’t even know if he knows. I don’t think he knows.'. Stephen joked: 'He knows now. Change your locks, man. He’s vengeful. You could theoretically run into Rod Stewart sometime and now he knows to punch you.'.
