Death of two-year-old boy at nursery investigated by police

The death of a two-year-old boy after a medical episode at a children's nursery is being investigated by police. The incident was reported at the Early Learners Day Nursery, on Hawthorne Road in Bootle, at 12.35pm on Tuesday, Merseyside Police said. The boy was taken to hospital by paramedics but died.
In a statement, the force said: "We can confirm that an investigation is under way following reports that a two-year-old boy suffered a fatal medical episode at a children's nursery in Bootle. "He was sadly pronounced deceased at hospital and his family is being supported.
