Del Boy’s phone and lion cigar jar among iconic Only Fools and Horses props sold for huge sum

A HAUL of props from TV’s Only Fools and Horses has sold for £23,000 at auction. They included a signed grey polo shirt worn by Del Boy in 1989 episode The Unlucky Winner Is . . . which went for £8,000. A door from the back of the Trotters’ three-wheeled Reliant Regal Supervan, signed by 20 members of the cast, went for £1,400.

The sale in Bristol also included Del Boy’s ceramic lion cigar jar, signed by David Jason, which sold for £700, and a candlestick telephone, which went for £280. The lots sold for £18,000. Fees took the total paid to £23,000. Auctioneer Andy Stowe said: “One of the longest-running jokes in the series, Uncle Albert’s ‘during the war’ stories were often cause for laughter.
