Can you work out who this Die Hard star is?. Stepping out this week in a rare public outing, the Canadian actor looked totally unrecognisable, 36 years after appearing in the iconic Bruce Willis film franchise. Now aged 68 and after years away from the spotlight, the movie star was spotted in Los Angeles sporting a very different look from the one we saw him with during the action series.
Hart Bochner played Harry Ellis in Die Hard, a sleazy businessman working for the Nakatomi Corporation. His character, a cocaine abuser, attempted to save his own skin by assisting Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) in betraying John McClane (Willis). Unfortunately for him, though, he met a grizzly end as he only got himself killed in the process.
Photographed with a female friend, he stopped by Brentwood Country Mart for lunch. The actor looked super chilled in casual attire, sporting blue denim jeans with a grey T-shirt underneath, complete with a shiny flight jacket. He also wore a pair of tan suede mules and completed his look with thick-rimmed sunglasses.
While Toronto-born Bochner keeps a low profile these days, he boasts an impressive CV. As well as his starring role in Die Hard in the 80s, he appeared in the acclaimed coming-of-age drama comedy Breaking Away in the 70s. He also had roles in Mr. Destiny, Mad at the Moon, The Innocent, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and Urban Legends: Final Cut.
His Batman voice-acting role for the character City Councilman Arthur Reeves was somewhat of a full-circle casting, as Bochner’s father, Lloyd Bochner, voiced Mayor Hamilton Hill in Batman: The Animated Series and its sequel, The New Batman Adventures.
