Faced with death, what would be the final words to come from your mind?. End-of-care doctors have revealed these dying words fall into two categories - heartwarming and heartbreaking. Patients have died peacefully saying they had no regrets, while others have expressed sadness for taking their lives for granted.
Hospice nurse Julie McFadden told DailyMail.com that people have called out for their parents who passed away long before or event a former lover they had not seen in years. But she has also heard the patients peacefully tell those around them 'I love you.'.
''It's not usually at their last breath. A lot of people think it's like the movies — a dramatic, last proclamation of something they've always regretted or something they always wanted everyone to know. It's not really like that,' McFadden explained.
She also noted that 'Thank you,' I forgive you,' Please forgive me' and 'Good-bye' are also commonly said. Younger patients will often express that they are not ready to die, palliative care doctor Dr Simran Malhotra told Grunge. McFadden, a registered nurse from Los Angeles, California, has worked in hospice care for more than seven years and has been a nurse for more than 15 years.
She started sharing her knowledge and experience on TikTok and has gained more than 1.2 million followers and 12.4 million likes. Hospice care is a type of health care that focuses on helping terminally ill patients reduce their pain and suffering, and attending to their emotional and spiritual needs at the end of life.
