A dog walker has been knocked down in a fatal hit and run as police launch a hunt for a 'noticeably damaged' car. The tragic incident occurred in the Welsh village of Llanpumsaint, Carmarthenshire, between 6.45pm and 7.45pm yesterday evening. Police are reportedly looking for a male driving a blue car. The force has also made an appeal for witnesses to come forward with any information or dashcam footage of the car at around the time of the crash.

A police spokesperson said: 'Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and a car in the village of Llanpumsaint, Carmarthenshire. The car left the scene, and officers are now searching for the driver. 'Police are particularly interested in speaking to the male driver of a blue coloured vehicle that has noticeable damage to it.

'Sadly, a man has died as a result of his injuries. Family liaison officers are supporting his family. 'The collision happened near to Caer Salem Baptist Chapel at somewhere between 6.45pm and 7.45pm on Monday, 23 December as the man was walking his dog.

'Officers have established that the vehicle involved was travelling northbound through Llanpumsaint at the time of the collision. The incident occured in the Welsh village of Llanpumsaint, Carmarthenshire, between 6.45pm and 7.45pm yesterday evening near to Caer Salem Baptist Chapel (pictured).
