Elon Musk is reportedly being advised by Dominic Cummings to target Sir Keir Starmer online and attempt to undermine the prime minister. Cummings, a key figure behind the Vote Leave campaign and a former adviser to Boris Johnson during the Covid-19 pandemic, is said to have formed a new alliance with Musk, according to reports in the Mail.

The South African-born billionaire has shifted from being largely apolitical to becoming an outspoken supporter of US president-elect Donald Trump. Musk has also begun to involve himself in British politics, backing the far-right Reform UK party, despite his rocky relationship with Nigel Farage.

Musk has accused Sir Keir of being "complicit in the crimes" of child sex offenders during his time as chief prosecutor and labelled Home Office Minister Jess Phillips a "rape genocide apologist.". His relentless tweets about grooming gangs and Starmer’s leadership are reportedly being influenced by Cummings, with the two said to be communicating via WhatsApp.

In recent tweets, he has called Sir Keir “evil” on Twitter, promoted a petition to have him removed from power, and also backed the far right figurehead Stephen Yaxley-Lennon - who is also known as Tommy Robinson. During a speech in Surrey on Monday, Sir Keir said “robust debate” must be based on “facts and truth” and not on “lies from those so desperate for attention”.
