Donald Trump Jr.'s girlfriend Bettina Anderson has jumped to the defense of Melania Trump after Vogue magazine criticized the First Lady's new White House portrait. Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is a known Democrat - and was once even rumored to be considered for an ambassadorship under former president Barack Obama. In a scathing review of the black-and-white photograph, which was unveiled on January 27, the magazine's writer Hannah Jackson said Melania 'looked more like a freelance magician than a public servant.'.

Bettina, 38, clearly wasn't impressed with the fashion publication and took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday to slam Vogue. Sharing the professional photo of Melania, which was taken by Régine Mahaux, Bettina wrote alongside it: 'Peace out @voguemagazine. In a world where you can be anything - BE KIND. You have gone off the rails and the world is OVER IT.'. The Vogue writer in question raged against the 'situationally inappropriate tuxedo' worn by Melania for the historic photograph, which shows the First Lady in a power pose.

'Trump's clothing certainly didn't help the boardroom pastiche,' Hannah wrote. 'Trump looked more like she was guest starring on an episode of The Apprentice than assuming the role of First Lady of the United States.'. Donald Trump Jr.'s girlfriend Bettina Anderson has jumped to the defense of his stepmother Melania Trump. Bettina, 38, slammed Vogue magazine for their scathing comments about the First Lady's official portrait.

She concluded: 'It's perhaps unsurprising that a woman who lived in a gold-encrusted penthouse, whose fame is so intertwined with a reality television empire, would refuse to abandon theatrics - even when faced with 248 years of tradition.'. Melania surprised her devoted Instagram followers with her new official White House portrait, which was unveiled on Monday. The image was a big departure from former First Ladies, who have traditionally chosen much more colorful images.

Instead, Melania, whose stylist Hervé Pierre has revealed in the past that it's difficult to dress her because many American designers refuse, modelled a black Dolce & Gabbana pantsuit with a white shirt. The Washington Monument was visible in the background of the photograph, which was taken on January 21, the day after the inauguration. Bettina's public support for Melania comes after it was reported that Don Jr.'s friends were worried that his new girlfriend was going to tarnish the 'Trump brand.'.

A source told DailyMail.com in December last year that allies of Don Jr, 47, expressed concerns that Bettina's notorious party girl reputation in Palm Beach wasn't highbrow enough to be associated with the first family. At least two people close with Don Jr. even alleged that she was only using him as her latest step in her 'social ladder climbing' and carefree influencer lifestyle. However, the rumors haven't seemed to deter the couple, as Bettina scored an invite to the president's highly coveted inauguration on January 20. While she didn't sit up front with Don Jr., she was spotted in the crowd wearing a black and white Dolce and Gabbana suit. Afterwards, a source close to the family assured DailyMail.com that Bettina is 'adored' by the Trumps, and there was no intended slight in her failing to secure a seat in the Rotunda with Don Jr., as they were in extremely high demand.
