If you're one of the lucky players to have got yourselves a copy of EA FC 25 for Christmas, you may be a little confused by a new addition to the game, EA FC 25 Player Roles. At launch, EA Sports revealed a host of new gameplay features coming to EA FC 25, with Player Roles a new addition to the game thanks to FC IQ. Replacing the player instructions system we all got so used to in EA FC 24 and past FIFA titles, EA introduced EA FC 25 Player Roles to try and add more detail and preciseness into setting up your EA FC 25 squad.
Player Roles decide how your players behave in-game, from the runs they make to the area of the pitch they will occupy the most. Every player in EA FC 25 has a different familiarity with each player role, and the more familiar they are, the better they will play with that Player Role applied.
There are a total of 33 Player Roles available in EA FC 25, with two new ones being added in the Frost Update. These are all the EA FC 25 Player Roles, along with each Player Role focus. Below is every player role available in EA FC 25, along with a brief description of what each player role does, and each player role focus. Each player role has one to three focuses, with the player role focus determining the player's behaviour in the game.
The Player Roles have been sorted into position order. Goalkeeper: A traditional goalkeeper who stays on their line and focuses on shot-stopping. Balanced Focus: With a Balanced focus, the Goalkeeper will occasionally leave their area to collect long or loose balls.
