EastEnders legend up for full-time comeback – but on one big condition

Former EastEnders star Joe Swash has revealed the terms in which he’d return to his Mickey Miller role full time. The actor and TV personality, 42, originally starred in the BBC soap between 2003 and 2008, before making a brief return in 2011. He reprised the part for two episodes earlier this month as part of the lead-up to the show’s 40th Anniversary in February.
The unexpected comeback saw him reunite with some Walford favourites as he joined in on their saucy charity calendar shoot to raise awareness of the Bridge Street market’s closure. When Mo Harris (Laila Morse) was left without a photographer, he was more than happy to chip in!.
Mickey also solved another dilemma when he stepped in to be Mr. December, stripping off in the Square gardens and only covering his modesty with a present. We were also handed a fresh update on the unruly Miller clan, who now all work at his group of luxury, eco-friendly B&Bs in the Cotswolds.
The surprise appearance left fans desperate for him to make a more permanent stint – and Joe hasn’t ruled this out. ‘I love that place. I have the most amazing fond memories of being on EastEnders. I was super honoured to be asked back. It felt like home’ he revealed to The Mirror.
‘If they wanted me to go back in, that would be something I would think about. ‘I’ve got a big family so it would have to suit me and the family ultimately. Soaps are quite full on and I have quite a young family.’. Joe is married to presenter and singer Stacey Soloman, who found fame on the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009 and is now a Loose Women panellist.
