Elon Musk calls for fresh UK election and release of Tommy Robinson in social media rant

Elon Musk has reignited his feud with the Prime Minister in a social media rant where he called for a fresh UK election and the release of far-right activist Tommy Robinson from prison. The world’s richest man, who is a close ally of incoming US President Donald Trump, posted a series of tweets on Thursday stating “free Tommy Robinson” and in another said “a new election should be called in Britain”.
He added that “only” Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party could “save” Britain. Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was jailed for 18 months in October for contempt of court. He admitted to breaching a court order by repeating false claims about a Syrian refugee schoolboy.
Mr Musk described a controversial documentary by the English Defense League co-founder about the case as “worth watching”. He also suggested the recent decision by Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips to reject calls for a Government inquiry into historic child abuse in Oldham was part of a cover up to protect Sir Keir Starmer.
The tycoon tweeted: “In the UK, serious crimes such as rape require the Crown Prosecution Service's approval for the police to charge suspects. “Who was the head of the CPS when rape gangs were allowed to exploit young girls without facing justice? Keir Starmer, 2008 -2013.
