Emmerdale has aired two devastating deaths during a special flashback episode highlighting April Windsor’s (Amelia Flanagan) ordeal living on the streets. It was revealed in emotional scenes that April had run away from home after finding out that she was pregnant, not wanting her family to know. She took refuge in a squat alongside new friends Bex and Dylan, who were also homeless. However, tragedy struck when Bex and April took to the streets of Leeds to beg and April’s purse was stolen.

Bex ran after the assailant and managed to get the purse back, but it soon became clear that she had been stabbed in the altercation. Viewers will remember that Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) were forced to identify a body believed to be April’s earlier this year, after her purse was found among the deceased’s belongings.
