Filip Jorgensen is set to resume his place in goal for Chelsea at Brighton on Friday night, with Enzo Maresca confirming he has usurped Robert Sanchez as his Premier League No1.
Sanchez returned for last weekend’s FA Cup defeat against Brighton, but will be back on the bench when Chelsea make another trip to his former club in the Premier League on Friday.
Maresca had occasionally rotated his goalkeepers earlier in the season, handing Jorgensen league starts against Ipswich and Southampton after some strong performances in the Conference League.
“I spoke with Robert a few days before West Ham, when I took the decision to play Filip but I never spoke again with Robert,” he added.
“The last Premier League game against West Ham that we won it was Filip.
