The trio will mark a move away from the popular Eurodance music we’ve had in recent years, bringing country music to the stage. Stay tuned for the official reveal!’. In the replies, multiple accounts including @cloudburstttt and @krisha2112 said they suspected it could be Flo, who have been touted as this generation’s answer to Destiny’s Child.
Social media users have long since raved about Flo, with @Popbased complimenting their live TV performances: ‘Flo deliver an immaculate performance of AAA on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.’. On Reddit, envyadvms enthused: ‘I looooooove Flo! They are so cute! I still jam out to their song ‘cardboard box.’ I hope they succeed. The west doesn’t have many girl groups and I have ALWAYS been a lover of girl groups so I’m excited to see them flourish.’.
Echoing their sentiment, zennial_ said: I love them!! Cardboard Box and Losing You are my favorites. Losing You had me in a chokehold winter of 2022. It still gets me in my feelings. It’s so beautiful.’. Flo – made up of Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma, and Renée Downer — released their debut album, Access All Areas, last year, which peaked at number three on the UK charts. The album – which included a feature from Wicked actor Cynthia Erivo – drew heavily on Flo’s main musical inspiration: R&B and hip-hop from the 90s and 00s.
Flo previously spoke to Metro about the lack of girl groups in the music industry and said they had ‘absolutely no clue’ why female bands were not more dominant. Jorja continued: ‘This industry is very … it’s just difficult. This day and age is difficult. ‘The things that new generation artists have to deal with, social media and all of the negativity that’s out there in the world at the moment, it’s just very difficult for any artist.
