A Formula 1 supercomputer has predicted a dramatic final day-showdown at the end of a thrilling 2025 title race. The F1 drivers' championship was last decided at the last race of the season in 2021, when Max Verstappen edged out rival Lewis Hamilton in highly controversial circumstances. And a similarly tight title race is predicted for this year too, but with a less satisfying result for the Dutchman.
The CardPlayer.com supercomputer is predicting another Abu Dhabi Grand Prix title decider at the end of 2025. However, this time Verstappen is tipped to miss out on a fifth-straight championship success by just eight points. Lando Norris is the man predicted to get the better of the Red Bull racer, having fallen short in his title quest last year. The McLaren man is predicted to amass 380 points over the course of the year, which the supercomputer believes will be enough to narrowly beat Verstappen to glory.
Predicted for finish in third place, 41 points adrift of Verstappen above him, is Hamilton. Many high-profile figures in the sport have questioned whether the Brit still has what it takes at the age of 40, but the supercomputer clearly believes the seven-time champion can make a success of his Ferrari spell.
It predicts Hamilton will out-scored his new team-mate Charles Leclerc by 56 points, with the Monegasque predicted to finish fifth in the championship. Sandwiched between the two Ferrari drivers is George Russell, Hamilton's old team-mate who is now team leader at Mercedes.
Another good year is expected for the Brit who finished above Hamilton in the standings last year and is predicted to rise from sixth to fourth this term. But the supercomputer thinks he won't get the better of his former team-mate this time around and predicts him to scored 277 points - 54 fewer than Hamilton and just two more than Leclerc.
