Arsenal have reportedly made an offer to sign Dusan Vlahovic this January, three years after the striker snubbed them for Juventus. The Gunners are yet to make a signing in the winter transfer window despite desperately needing a striker. Gabriel Jesus is out for the rest of the season after rupturing his ACL against Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Kai Havertz continues to struggle in front of goal, and a busy schedule leaves Mikel Arteta's side short of firepower. Despite this, the Arsenal manager has played coy when asked about the possibility of securing new signings. Yet the Gunners have now reportedly made an offer to sign 24-year-old striker Vlahovic from Juventus on a loan deal until the end of the season. Juve are said to have swiftly rejected the bid as they'd prefer to sell the player outright as they'll then have the funds to sign a replacement.
Arsenal fans will be well acquainted with Vlahovic as he was heavily linked with a move to north London in January 2022. The Gunners, who were at the time in a similarly desperate situation, made an offer of £50million plus Lucas Torreira, which was rejected by Fiorentina.
Vlahovic later completed a £66.6m move to Italian giants Juve on a four-and-a-half-year deal. He later revealed he had no intention of joining Arsenal. "Maybe my agent knows [about Arsenal's offer] but I never talked to anyone about it," Vlahovic said in an interview with The Telegraph. "I just had one club in my mind because Juventus is Juventus. There is nothing else to say.
