“We previously announced the date for Fable as 2025,” said head of Xbox Game Studios, Craig Duncan, during the latest episode of the Xbox Podcast.
Mr Duncan spoke highly of Playground Games' vision for Albion, Fable’s eccentric take on England, a bucolic in-game world teeming with hapless locals and bandits.
Fable is being pushed back to 2026 from its initial release window of 2025, Xbox Game Studios has announced.
The first Fable (2004) on Xbox let players shape their hero’s destiny through good or evil actions, influencing the world and their appearance.
Then, in 2020, Microsoft announced a full reboot of Fable, developed by Playground Games, best known for the Forza Horizon series.
