Will Ferrell's beloved character Buddy the Elf looked as though he'd fallen on hard times when he made an appearance at the Los Angeles Kings game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday night. After reuniting with his former Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga costar Demi Lovato at a match earlier in the week, the A-lister was back sitting court side at the Crypto.com arena for the latest fixture.
This time around, Hollywood actor Ferrell, 57, paid tribute to the iconic 2003 Christmas film Elf as he watched the match in a green costume similar to that of his character Buddy. Joined by his wife Viveca Paulin, 55, Ferrell looked worse for wear as he took swigs of his drink.
Appearing on the big screen throughout the game, he also had an unlit cigarette periodically hanging from his lips. Social media users were in hysterics over Ferrell's stunt, with many poking fun at Buddy's miserable state. One wrote: 'Buddy has clearly fallen on hard times.'.
'Buddy looks fresh out of prison,' another observed.
