A woman is being mercilessly mocked after explaining that she couldn't bring herself to wear a Louis Vuitton bag because she didn't want to ruin it - as many of her followers explained that could actually cause the purse to rot completely. Leather bags can develop dry rot over time, a condition where the leather becomes dry, brittle, and fragile.
The condition occurs when accessories are stored in warm or dry conditions and are never worn. Content creator Aryn shared a TikTok showing off her designer purchase, still in its original packaging and gathering dust. 'Asked for a very fancy bag four years ago and never even opened the box. It's dusty now,' she explained over the video.
The video received more than 500,000 views, with commenters up in arms that she never even opened up the designer purchase. Some joked that she could eventually open it and find that it's the wrong bag - although she said it was a dark brown Neverfull, which retails for $2,100.
'I know it's so silly. Why have things just to keep them unopened in the closet?' Aryn wrote in her caption.
