But the team at JD Williams also pointed out that blankets can help trap heat in your entire home, not just your bed. They said: "Draughts can be a major source of heat loss in your home. "Identify and seal any gaps around windows, doors, and even floors.
"Use weatherstripping or door sweeps to block cold air from sneaking in. "For larger openings, consider using expanding foam sealant. "If you can’t get your hands on any of the above, rolling up a blanket and placing it at the base of doors can serve as a good temporary draft excluder, helping to keep the cold air at bay.".
The home pros also recommend investing in thermal curtains and rugs to insulate your home further. And maintaining your heating system remains as important as ever. They add: "Ensure that your heating system is running efficiently by scheduling regular maintenance checks.
