A FEMALE cop has been sacked after drunkenly groping two male colleagues on a boozy night out at Wetherspoons. PC Tia Johnson-Warne, in her 20s, grabbed PC A above the knee and moved her hand up his thigh, a tribunal heard. When he moved away, she sent a text asking, “don’t you want to f**k me?” and an intimate picture, it was said. Later, she rubbed her hand over the crotch of PC B for around 20 seconds in the pub at Ryde, Isle of Wight.
The Hampshire officer, whose then-cop boyfriend was also in the pub, was found guilty of gross misconduct but cleared of another grope on PC A. She was put on the College of Policing Barred List at the hearing in Eastleigh. Deputy Chief Constable Sam de Reya criticised Johnson-Warne for her “inappropriate behaviour”. She said: “It is deeply troubling that an officer has acted in such a shameful manner.”.
“Nobody should be left to feel like these officers did because of a colleague’s degrading actions, regardless of whether you are on or off-duty. “Her persistent unwanted advances irrevocably damaged their working relationship and caused unnecessary harm to the two individuals. The public expect better from police officers and our force. “We are rightly held to a higher standard and whether we are on the beat or at a social event, the same standards apply and our actions are a reflection on policing as a whole.
