A brand new year means a slate of new series to look forward to streaming this year with several already pinned as the next potential hidden gem. Apple TV has a reputation for releasing underrated and under watched gems. Several of their returning series were named in Rotten Tomatoes' best shows of 2024 including Pachinko, Silo, Shrinking and Slow Horses which took the top spot. They also had a number of brand new series that achieved at least 90% score on the website such as Sunny, Criminal Record and Where's Wanda.
2025 looks to be no different with the streamer offering up the long-awaited return of Severance in January. However, beyond that are five brand new series that look set to be the next hidden gems and must watch shows of the year. With Apple TV+ now available as an add-on subscription via the Amazon Prime Video app, there should be no excuse for television fans to miss out on any of these shows. Based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Dennis Tafoya, Dope Thief follows long-time friends who come up with the perfect scam. They pretend to be DEA agents in order to rob a house in the countryside. However, they soon find themselves in a life-or-death situation as they unwillingly expose one of the biggest drug rings in the region.
