The defender signed for the Cumbrians last week on a short-term contract until the end of the season. He was set to make his debut against Bradford but was involved in a car crash on Friday.
Dummett, 33, did not suffer any injuries other than a few cuts and bruises, and is expected to take part in training on Monday. A Carlisle statement read: "Mike Williamson has confirmed that Paul Dummett missed today's game after he was involved in a car accident yesterday.
