FRANKIE Bridge has revealed she was “knocked sideways” after finding a tumour in her neck. The Saturdays singer, 36, told fans how doctors discovered the benign tumour last year after she went for an MRI scan for headaches. The Loose Women star was left “fearing for the worst” until she was told it was nothing to worry about.
Frankie, who first spoke about the tumour last year, opened up about the scare once again and revealed her very high stress levels in a candid post to mark her birthday yesterday. In a very reflective post, she wrote: “This year after finally going to a doctor about my daily headaches and having an MRI. They discovers a tumour in my neck.
“The call knocked me sideways, They had no idea what it was at the time and I obviously thought the worst. “I was so angry at myself for not going to the doctors sooner. I was convinced I was now dying and I probably could have done something to avoid it. Luckily for me, that wasn't the case.”.
The tumour turned out to be a benign subependymoma and doctors have decided to monitor the rare tumour for the time being. She continued: “Turns out the headaches are due to stress. I have gut issues also, due to stress. “We know many cancers and illnesses can be exasperated or brought on by stress, yet every time a doctor tells me to find the time to "manage my stess" I just laugh.
