The recent spell of freezing cold weather has got us bundled up, fighting to stay warm and cosy, but that doesn’t mean sacrificing style. From luxurious, chunky scarves to fashionable gloves and statement hats, accessories are a great way to update your outfit without forking out for an expensive new winter coat.
One item we’re eyeing up is this Faux Fur Headband from John Lewis. Costing £19, it’s fluffy, chic and super on-trend. It’s great quality too with one reviewer saying: ‘A very luxurious, rich looking headband which is made with faux fur. It is warm and keeps my hair under control in wintry blustery weather.’.
Another item we’re loving is Jigsaw’s Wool Cashmere Roll Neck Bib. Popped over dresses or shirts and worn under your coat, it gives an extra layer of warmth where you need it. The natural fibres and roll neck style ensure great insulation but it’s easy to remove once you’re in the warmth.
With the temperatures staying low for the foreseeable, staying warm in winter is all about layering effectively and choosing the right materials. Accessories in natural fabrics like cashmere, wool and angora tend to be a lot warmer than synthetics like polyester or acrylic so, opt for these.
Need some inspo? Whether you’re braving the morning frost for a coffee or just trying to make it home after work with all your fingers, we’ve curated a list of some of the season’s must-have accessories to keep you toasty from head to toe. Made from pure, high-quality cashmere, this beanie offers an ultra-soft feel that gives much needed insulation against the cold. It’s available in a range of colours including turquoise and grey but, our favourite is this chocolate brown shade.
