Fulham ready to block Palmeiras move for Andreas Pereira

Fulham will try to fend off interest in Andreas Pereira this month, as they view the Brazil international as a key figure in their unlikely push for Europe. Pereira has started 15 of Fulham’s 19 Premier League games this season, helping them to eighth place in the table at the turn of the year.
Palmeiras want to make the midfielder their main signing ahead of the 2025 Brazilian football season. The side from São Paulo are seeking to strengthen their squad before the new domestic season begins on March 29, having finished second in the league in 2024, behind champions Botafogo.
Palmeiras president Leila Pereira has seen Fulham’s Brazilian international, Pereira, as a key target for some time, and the club first made contact with Pereira’s camp in December. Fulham executives anticipate Palmeiras being unable to raise the funds needed to prise Pereira away from Craven Cottage, where manager Marco Silva sees him as an important player, usually in the starting XI.
In the summer, Pereira was the subject of interest from Monaco, as well as Fulham’s Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest. French side Marseille made a concrete offer for the 29-year-old, with manager Roberto De Zerbi keen on him. A move failed to come to fruition.
It remains to be seen whether Marseille lodge another bid for Pereira this month, but the side second in Ligue 1 retain an interest in Pereira and are expected to make signings this month. On December 1, Pereira was dropped from the Fulham squad altogether for the 1-1 draw at Tottenham.
