Neville made a wise guess that Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester would get relegated. Carragher also chose the Saints and the Foxes but made a horror prediction that Nottingham Forest would go down. Neville joked that Carragher should be giving Forest fans an "apology" for underestimating them. Though both agreed the high-flyers would finish this season in sixth. Before the first game of the campaign, Carragher thought that Manchester City would win the league.

He explained: "Liverpool are massive favourites and are in great form but there is still a long way to go. "But I just think Arsenal have got a resilience to them and they have got a back four that can hold it together. "I think they will hang in there and if it does get close towards the end, they could hunt Liverpool down. That is what I am hoping for.".
