Gavin & Stacey legend admits she won't miss playing character ahead of last ever episode Joanna Page has let slip why she's not going to miss her role as Stacey Shipman in the beloved series Gavin & Stacey.

Details of the 90-minute special are shrouded in secrecy, but it's been revealed that Stacey and her other half, Gavin Shipman (played by Mathew Horne), are exploring new ways to add some zest to their seventeen-year marriage, while Pam Shipman (portrayed by Alison Steadman) is all in a tizzy about playing the perfect hostess in Billericay, Essex.

Reflecting on her first encounter with the Gavin and Stacey script 17 years ago, Joanna shared: "I just opened the script and thought 'I know this person' and to have something where I can be Welsh and use my own voice, you feel so much closer to the character.

Joanna, alongside her co-star Larry Lamb, who plays Mick Shipman, dropped by The One Show on Wednesday to chat with presenters Alex Jones and Clara Amfo about the eagerly anticipated finale.

The final instalment of the much-loved BBC sitcom is set to broadcast on Christmas Day, where fans will see the Shipmans and Wests unite for one last hurrah.
