With three new outfits delivered each episode, her expert mix of tartan kilts, tweed capes, snug cardigans, chunky knits, tempting fingerless mitts and the odd pair of fetching jodhpurs last year led to declarations of “traitors-core” followed by the confirmation of “the Claudia effect.”.
Now, McKeefry has revealed to the Standard the fool-proof tricks the pair use to perfect the more than 50 outfits which are shipped up to Inverness each season. But for all the high ticket items, Winkleman’s stylist has to “beg, borrow and steal,” mixing in high street pieces to keep costs down.
“There's key pieces, like a pair of [£1,150] Miu Miu x Church’s collaboration loafers this season, but then you just have to work within your budget. Maybe you use a bit of Zara further down the line, or Decathlon jodhpurs for £25,” she says. “The red, fingerless gloves are from Amazon.”.
McKeefry promises a handful of unexpected fashion moments are to come in season three, too. “One of them is a nod to the Gothic — it's definitely pushed the boundaries of what you would expect to see the host of what's essentially a reality show to be wearing.”.
Ultimately though, “when you break it down, it's quite simple,” she says of Claudia’s look. Find the perfect tweed blazer.
