Hollywood legend Harrison Ford caused a stir when he cheekily told Alison Hammond to "grow up" in a side-splitting birthday greeting. ITV's This Morning was all fireworks on Wednesday (February 5) when hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley shared the news that it was Alison's big 50th. The morning was sprinkled with surprises, as telly favourite Jeff Brazier turned up at Alison's Birmingham residence armed with presents.

Wishes poured in for a fantastic birthday from Jeff, who also spilled the beans about heartwarming messages from Alison's celeb pals and those she'd interviewed before. But the real jaw-dropper came when Ford joined the bandwagon, delivering quite the eyebrow-raising message. Back in the studio, Ben teased: "Now look, we've got one more very special message because the whole world globally remembers the interview with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford!".

He then jogged Alison's memory about quaffing a tipple with the duo during that legendary sit-down, hinting: "Well, it would appear that Harrison hasn't stopped drinking since, he sent you this!". Cue to a video clip of Ford, appearing to be merry and mentioning: "Alison, I remember you were here one morning with my friend Ryan- do you remember Ryan had a drink," reports Wales Online. Harrison bluntly added, "They told me you're 50 years old now. Grow up!" Sending the studio, especially Alison, into fits of laughter, she retorted spiritedly with a playful: "Never Harrison, never!".

Alison Hammond was treated to a delightful surprise by Jeff, who arranged for a Magic Mike stage performance right in her back garden. The bubbly personality began her journey on This Morning as an entertainment reporter in 2003, following her stint on Big Brother, and soon became a staple presenter and announcer on the show. In 2021, she stepped up as a main presenter and now co-hosts with Dermot O'Leary every Friday.

Last year, Alison opened up about her contentment with her current role, expressing no desire to take on more days. She remarked, "Absolutely not. How could I? I live in Birmingham and do Bake Off and For the Love of Dogs.". She added: "I never wanted that job. Last year we did extra because we were going through issues, but Cat and Ben will save that show.". This Morning airs Mondays-Fridays from 10am on ITV1.
